It definitely can! Virtual art and expressive arts therapy sessions can be just as effective as in-person sessions! Virtual sessions are also beneficial for those who have difficulty accessing in-person sessions and enjoy being in the comfort of their own space.
What do I need for virtual therapy?
A running device such as a laptop or tablet
Good internet connection
Secure and private space
Basic art materials such as paper, markers, crayons, pencil crayons or whatever art material you would like to work with! If you do not have access to basic art materials, a pen and paper will be just fine!
Is it for me?
Try it and find out! If attending in-person therapy is challenging due to mobility, accessibility or health issues, and/or you prefer to attend from the comfort of your own space, virtual therapy may be beneficial for you.
